Lent

The Spirit of God led Jesus into the wilderness for a 40-day preparation. God had done the same with others, before. Prophets like Moses understood the crucible power of desert seasons. God is inviting our fellowship to enter that same desert. This Spring season we will journey towards the Cross and Resurrection Sunday by walking thru Matthew’s gospel, practicing weekly fasts, and learning to give of ourselves in fresh ways. God’s invitation and our intentional obedience will open up an oasis in the desert and, by faith, a shaping of our hearts will occur. Be warned, the desert is a harsh place. It is a mirror and a chisel. We will confront past shame, bitterness, unforgiveness, and death. Do not fear- God’s grace will bring us thru.
