Letting Off Steam
Pastor: Paul Hickernell Series: Train Wreck Topic: emotion Scripture: Ephesians 4:25–32, Luke 23:33–46
Are we letting off steam or are we full steam ahead? The Bible says, "Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger..." (Ephesians 4:26) Anger is a God-given emotion letting us know that something is wrong. But, too often, unrestrained our anger barrels ahead and wrecks everything. Anger becomes rage and wrath, A common false response to anger is language. Our words are to be gentle and kind ALWAYS. No wonder in the same chapter in Ephesians Paul gives guidance to speech. (4:29) Further, forgiveness is a healthy coping mechanism that keeps us on track. Lets take a deep look at anger and how Christ responded in a very difficult situation.
