2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

Week 2: Building A Biblical Framework

Connect the dots. Collect 6-10 verses from your study and begin to give mental shape to the doctrine of the Bible. This isn't about what I say or what our past invites us to assume. We want to be shaped by what the Bible says and in this case what it says about itself. Bible verses can be found:

  • ...within the current chapter in Grudem, Christian Beliefs (best source)
  • ...in study Bibles. Some have topical studies within them.
  • ...on the internet. Do a google search.
How do I know a particular verse is helpful?
  • It helps me answer the question "What Is The Bible?"
  • It shares something new I didn't  previously know
  • It makes me hunger to learn even more
What do I do with this list of 6-10 verses?
  • Collect them all in one location like your W&P study guide or a journal or a computer doc.
  • Make note of any similarities and/or themes
  • Try to revisit your list a few times throughout the week reading over the verses
  • Challenge: can you synthesize the verses into 3-4 main anchor points?
    • EXAMPLE: (Deut 32:47, Psalm 19:7-10, Matt 4:4) God's word is spiritual food and I need to hunger for it.

ENJOY! You are beginning to see things thru the Holy Spirit's eyes. You are building a shield that keeps the demons away.
